Quality of Life Tips and Tricks (WIP)

hey ya'll gonna give you the down low (with pics) on things that'll improve your bdo experience and life in general.

there'll be a point by point text guide on how to do everything mentioned here and images in spoilers, for all you visual learners.

things that are covered in this long ass post:

first get to your settings and get all cozy in there, 'cause we got a few boxes to click.

________________2. click the game tab
________________3. go to the "general" heading
________________4. uncheck the box labeled "black spirit notification"
________________5. enjoy your less needy parasite

________________1. make sure you go to settings, boo
________________2. visit the lovely game tab again
________________3. scroll down to the "turn off system notifications" heading
________________4. check the box next to "nearby monster"
________________5. congrats the game no longer flashes you

________________2. pay auntie game tab a visit
________________3. scroll all the way down to the "channel chat: send and receive" heading
________________4. uncheck the box next to "chat filter"
________________5. welcome to adulthood, here's your swears and taxes

alright this is gonna get a bit more complicated, guildies - i hope you're ready.

this is all about your chat box, making different chat tabs, and positioning it all where you want.

i highly recommend after reading this you make a separate tab or box for guild, party, and whisper chat.



first we're going to create multiple chat tabs
________________1. bring your mouse to your chatbox and click on the "+" symbol to create more tabs
________________2. i would recommend at least two, i have four myself.

next we're going to edit those tabs so they show fewer types of chat.
________________1. hover over your chat box until you see a gear.
________________2. click on it to see the different filtering options.
________________3. check which ones you wish to appear and make sure to uncheck what you don't want to see.
___________________________ for example, in the picture below you'll see my setting for my "chat 1 box"
________________4. you'll have to click on each tab's gear icon to change their filtering options.

now i'll show you how to make separate chat boxes, if you'd prefer not clicking through tabs.
________________1. click on the symbol of overlapping squares to separate a tab from your main chat

Spoiler:

________________2. once separated, it will appear in the middle of your screen
________________3. to move this, you'll have to press "esc" and go to "edit ui"
________________4. once you've clicked "edit ui", you'll see a large gray box where your new chat is
________________5. click and hold to drag it where you want it
________________6. press save when finished
________________7. and ta da you now have two chat boxes.
